As group leaders, we have a responsibility for your safety during your participation in the Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme. In return, we expect a certain standard of behaviour from participants and ask that you sign the contract below to indicate agreement of its terms.
PARTICIPANT’S CONTRACT
In accepting a place on the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme at LPGS, I agree to the following terms:
1. I will complete training tasks set on Firefly and attend all training sessions. I understand that attendance will be monitored and could affect my place on the Award. I am aware that support sessions are available weekly (Mondays in M009 at 3.15pm) and I will be proactive in asking for help if needed.
2. I will regularly check my school email and Firefly as these are the main methods of communication.
3. I will work with my whole team and support them, as they will support me.
4. I will read carefully the guidance notes for each training/practice/qualification expedition.
5. I am attending these sessions and expeditions because I am ready and keen to learn the skills of campcraft, navigation and teamwork. I will not disrupt the learning of others.
6. During expeditions I will be aware of the general public around me, and behave in an appropriate manner. I will observe the Countryside Code. I will follow all instructions without question.
7. I understand that I may be sent home early from the expedition, at any time of day or night, if my behaviour is not as required, and that I may not Qualify for my Bronze Award as a result. This includes settling down to sleep by 10.00pm so that the camp is quiet and others can rest.
8. I will update the group leaders regarding any medical or other issues that may affect my participation.
9. I will inform group leaders of any concern regarding a member of my team which could affect their ability to complete an expedition.
10. I accept that the leader’s decision is final on expedition in all circumstances.
