I would like to enrol for the Bronze DofE programme at LPGS *
I have read the Firefly pages on year 9 enrolment, linked below: *

LPGS DofE pages

To check you have read the pages please answer the below questions:

How many sections do you need to complete before the qualifying expedition in May? *
What date are the expeditions? *
We have read the Enrolment information for adults at home (linked below), and discussed these at home *
I have explored the DofE.org website including possible ideas for my Skill, Physical and Volunteering sections *
Why do you want to do the Bronze DofE award? What do you think you will gain from participating? *
I understand that to take part in DofE at LPGS I need to demonstrate commitment and dedication to all four sections of the Award for a minimum of 6 months. I aim to complete my Award by September 2026. *

To show your commitment we want you to think about the activities you would like to do to complete the Bronze Award sections, and who you might ask to be your assessors.

IMPORTANT NOTE: you are not being judged on your choice of activities - it is YOUR award and you choose following your own interests. We are looking for a demonstration that you are prepared for and engaged in all aspects of the Award

Please remember that Mrs Laurence and Mr Anderson are available to answer questions about completing your application form.

In the boxes below please outline your thoughts on how you will complete each section:

Skill (3 months) - activity and assessor

For your skills activity you need to choose an activity that will allow you to prove you have broadened your understanding and increased your expertise in your chosen skill. It should not be a physical activity, for example horse riding, as this counts towards your Physical section, however, you could choose to learn about caring for horses.
*
Physical (3 months) - activity and assessor

For your physical activity you need to choose any sport, dance or fitness activity – in short, anything that requires a sustained level of energy and physical activity.

*
Volunteering (3 months) - activity and assessor

Volunteering is about giving time to do something meaningful, motivated by making a difference rather than making money.

Participants should look for impactful opportunities around them – this can be in person or online. Meaningful volunteering is different for everyone. There are many people and organisations that are willing to provide participants with opportunities for volunteering. An opportunity could be found within your community, at social enterprises, charities, not-for-profit organisations and Volunteering Approved Activity Providers. *
Any alternative ideas I am considering
You also have to spend an extra three months on one of the Volunteering, Physical or Skills sections. It’s your choice which one: *
I will keep in touch with my assessors, keep up to date records of my time spent each week on my activities for Skill, Physical and volunteering sections, attend after school meetings as required, and complete Firefly tasks on time when they are set *
I am able to attend the following expeditions and training dates:

24 January 2026 training day in school 9.30am-4.30pm

28-29 March 2026 Practice Expedition

23-24 May 2026 Qualifying Expedition *
If selected, I understand that an enrolment form will sent home and will need to be signed by an adult once a place on the DofE Award Scheme has been offered to me. *

Thank you very much for completing this form. For questions, please contact  jla@lpgs.bromley.sch.uk
