How to use Microsoft Teams for live lessons
Creating a lesson/meeting
- Open Microsoft teams
- Click calendar
- Click new meeting
- Add title for your meeting
- Set day and time
- Set to repeat if you wish meeting to be regular
- Click add channel
- Type in Class name
- Click general under the class name
- Click Send
Email will be sent too
Just before you wish to start lesson/meeting
- Ensure all the documents you wish to use during the meeting are open and minimised
- Click calendar
- Click the meeting you wish to start
- Click join
- Click join now
- Click 3 dots (more actions)
- Click show device settings, then check your mic and speakers are working then X (Close)
- Click show participants (This enables you to see which students have joined so far)
During lesson/meeting
- Ask students to mute their mic’s to prevent feedback
- When you are ready to start recording lesson/meeting click 3 dots
- Click start recording (recording starts straight away)
- When you wish to share your screen click share (Arrow up share)
- Click screen 1
- Now students can see your screen (Start to show presentation. Documents etc)
- When you wish to stop sharing screen click stop share (arrow down stop share)
- When you wish to stop recording click 3 dots
- Click stop recording
- It will ask you again if you wish to stop recording-Click (stop recording or cancel to continue with recording)
