How to manage permissions in your live lesson

Support for larger live lessons (where groups are merged)

Silent Start

You are able to mute all participants, and stop them from unmuting.  This is good at the start if you want to take the register and also for during online DEAR time.

  • Ensure that you are in Participants Tab (default for when you start)
  • Click the 3 dots and choose the "Don't allow students to unmute"
  • You can also remove this.  A Mute all button is then available in participants for if you need it again

Students asking for how to join

Again in participants, you can copy the meeting link and email this to students - click the link symbol at the side of participants

Stop students taking over

You can amend permissions to make sure no one gabs control and starts presenting (we have never had this.. but it's worth changing to just me.)  To get here click manage permissions in participants

Be careful using the lobby with very large groups as students can get stuck in a waiting room

Remember to end your lesson

At the end of your class, remember to finish the call.  Don't just hang up.  This stops students from staying on for social time.

instead of clicking on the leave button in the meeting,  instead select the drop down arrow next to the "Leave" button and they select "End Meeting". Another prompt will appear saying "You'll end the meeting for everyone".
