Social justice and human rights.

Task 1

Social justice is about seeking to protect people’s civil liberties, rights and opportunities and taking care of the least advantaged members of society.

Task 2

Give your response to the following:

1. What is meant by the terms 'social justice' and 'human rights'
2.  Explain why the Universal Declaration of Human rights (UDHR) was made and give three examples of what the act seeks to protect. 
3. Find a religious teaching, speech or quote that supports the ideal of justice and human rights and post it on the P&E forum page.

Challenge 

'People focus  too much on human rights and not enough on their responsibilities'. Evaluate. 

List arguments for and against this statement.
