Task 6

A Level Psychology requires you to be able to complete some common mathematical calculations. This week's task will involve you studying some key techniques and then taking two short mathematical skills quizzes to help us identify how to support and challenge you in September. In the mathematical skills quizzes, you will be tested on some mental arithmetic as well as some some of the types of mathematical calculations/conversions described below. 

Here is an example of how to calculate percentages. 

If a question asked you to calculate the percentage of children from the sample who were insecure-avoidant we would do the following ...

9+4 = 13 ...this is the total number of insecure-avoidant children in this sample of children. 

The total number of children assessed was 42+22+9+4+7+5  =  89

To work out the % of children who had an insecure-avoidant attachment you need to do the following ....

(13 / 89)*100 = 14.6%
