Task 1

Conduct your own research and them complete the following glossary of terms.

Compare and contrast the following two quotes in response to prejudice and discrimination.  

• "There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus." Galatians 3:28
• "Women should remain silent in the churches. They are not permitted to speak...for it is a disgrace for a woman to speak in the church."

Challenge

In November 1992, after 17 years of campaigning, the Church of England voted to allow women to become vicars. It was a close vote, and while many people were happy with the decision, many decided to leave the Church of England with many joining the Catholic Church instead.

'The Roman Catholic church discriminates against women by not permitting them to ordination.' Evaluate.
