Welcome to Sociology

This course is taught by Ms Douglas (HOD/HOF) and Ms Spink.

Sociology is the study of society and how it works (and in many cases how it doesn't).

We will examine: 

  • peoples' beliefs about what society really is;  
  • the causes of inequality including ethnicity, age, gender; 
  • the effects of material and cultural deprivation;
  • changes in education, families, beliefs and the criminal justice system.
