All About the Camping Trip
Early September, I went on a camping trip with all of the year 7s to Blackland Farms. We did lots of fun, bonding activities, which I am going to talk about now.
When we finally got there after the coach trip, a teacher explained to us how to put up our tents and that’s what we were all doing until lunch. It wasn’t easy but we got there in the end!
After lunch,
some groups had activities, and some didn’t. My group didn’t have any activities,
so we had to put up the rest of the tents and then we had a bit of free time
where we could do anything we liked. We had to decorate our tents for a
competition which was really exciting and all the tents looked really nice!
Then we had dinner. Afterwards, my group had an activity: bungie trampolining!
It was very fun, just like the rest of the activities. On the trampolines, we were
only allowed to do a backflip, and unfortunately, as hard as I tried, I
couldn’t do one! When we returned from bungie trampolining, we had another
activity, which was team building which involved different tasks where we all had
to work together to complete the activity. When we got back, there was music
playing and everyone was dancing and having fun, so we all joined in. After
that, we had to go brush our teeth and get ready for the night. At first, we
were all warm with all our layers, but later on in the night, it got really
cold and everyone was freezing!
The next morning, some of us were awake at six o’clock but we were only supposed to get out of our tents at seven o’clock so we tried to go back to sleep but it was still really cold! Firstly, we had breakfast, and my group had to prepare it. After that, we had some free time followed by an activity: crates, which was so much fun! We had to stand up on wobbly boxes until we fell over! I had a go with my friend Abigail and we got up to thirteen boxes! Then we had our lunch. After lunch, we had kayaking, where I fell in the water twice! It was freezing cold and there was water, dirt, and a few bugs in all the kayaks! Still, we really enjoyed it especially as some of us had never tried it before.
After that, we had a bit of free time followed by archery. Archery was my favourite activity even though I’m not very good at it.
Next, we had dinner: a barbecue around a campfire, toasted marshmallows and cheesecake afterwards! Everyone was enjoying themselves and seemed really happy. Sadly, I couldn’t eat the toasted marshmallows because of my braces, so I can’t tell you if they were nice but I’m pretty sure they were good as everyone else seemed to enjoy them. What I can tell you is that the cheesecake was delicious! Then, we had to prepare for another freezing night! I managed to fall asleep but I woke up at four o’clock and played UNO with some friends which was really fun!
The trip was so much fun it was all going so fast! The next morning, it was already the day we had to leave. We had breakfast, then one last activity: low ropes and tunnels (obstacle courses). We didn’t race against each other but we all got through both obstacle courses.
When we came back, we had time to go to the tuck shop quickly and most of us bought some sweets. Then, sadly, it was already time to leave. We all got on the coach, ready to go home, and we all said goodbye to Blackland Farms.
